Former presidential candidate John McCain was killed in a tragic riding accident today.
First elected to the U.S. House of Representatives for Arizona in 1982, John has led the fight for reforming Washington. A failed attempt at presidency the highlight to his career.
Prior to entering politics, he was a member of the US Air Force. During his 23rd bombing mission on October 26, 1967, a missile struck his plane and forced him to eject, knocking him unconscious and breaking both his arms and his leg. It has yet to be determined if the missile was friendly fire. As part of our future series on Mr McCain, we will investigate this historical event.
The man with nine lives sadly lost his battle today.
Sources say he had been out bringing in stray cattle, when a snake startled his horse. Although an excellent rider, Mr McCain was unable to control the horse, the horse bolted, throwing Mr McCain down a gully. He was killed instantly. A tragic riding accident on a friends farm in Texas.
A date for his funeral has yet to be set, and family have asked for respect and privacy.
